Sharp Sharp Blog Post!

As it says, this is just a sharp one. I'm supposed to be sleeping now o.

Have to be somewhere tomorrow and I thought I should just blog this one sharply before I go to meet Alice in wonder...
Straight up!
Okay the thing is this, you know there some times when you just don't know how you merit some things...and it just comes by the grace of God, well this week proved that indeed God is still in His business of doing great things.
Well all I want to say is THANK YOU LORD!
Signing out...Love you all. Will be back soon.

Oh my word! See cobwebs all around here.

Now let me get my broom. *Now sweeping*

Miss you all dearly. Last week, I was quite busy a bit though its not a justification for leaving this page blank.
I just finished a book titled 'The Man God Uses' by Oswald J. Smith and I recommended it on a post I put on FB. I found out all of a sudden that my love for reading grew by a great fraction. Its good, I think.

My 1st and worst negotiation also happened this weekend. Still learning the art of business. We'll get there.

Currently, I'm reading a book by Chimamanda Adichie, titled 'The Thing Around Your Neck'. That book is a classic and Chimamanda is indeed a gift to the African Literary Community. Oh sorry I'm reading 2 books at the same time. 'The Art of War' by Sun Tzu is another one I usually read 'in transit'.

I just released a story on the blog and its awaiting publishing on Naija Stories. Enjoy as you read.

My passion

A student grabbed a coin,

Flipped it in the air & said,
"Head, I go to sleep."

Tail, I watch a movie.

If it stands on the edge I'll study.

Hehehehe...howdy all. Hope your kicking. Glad I'm here again on this brown page to scribble some of my musings as is the tradition.
Firstly to a member of the blogsville community, I'd say Happy Birthday Tolu Akanni. Wish you the very best man. You're a gift.

Okay, I'm getting addicted these days to my PC which I kinda object to. We had a fight a while ago based on this same issue. The addiction is good from an angle cuz I do a lot on sites like Naijastories, this blog, Lowla Dee's blog, Afrosays witty stories, Myne Whitman's page and my mailbox. I read a lot on blogs I visit and probably comment on good stuffs I see but I feel its getting too much (don't know why).

Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day but its all good.
There are 2 things I still have a hard time distinguishing which one I love more and they are Writing and Telecoms.
Telecoms flows in my blood. I pulsate when I'm working on a Base Station or fixing some equipments. I love it to pieces and its the reason I wanna go to sleep right now so I can be up and doing tomorrow.

There's nothing like knowing you love something and sticking to it. There's so much joy in that.
Okay, I finally got to convince an upcoming talent to submit her write-up a while ago and thank God she did.
Enjoy as she reveals her thoughts on Friendship.

Latest updates for you

I have over 15 tabs open on my taskbar and its all unfinished work!
Oops! sorry I forgot to say hi to you my wonderful reader.

I have a pending poem to be published now written by Somto Okeke, my 'oga' in poetry. There's another write-up by an upcoming newbie in the writing community (It took a lot of persuasion to get her to give me the piece to be published and its actually not a bad one for starters.

I have joined Naija stories (NS)...Yay! Its an online community of upcoming Nigeria writers where you get honest and sometimes harsh criticisms or praises on your work.

True confession:  Between the lines above and the words below this sentence, there was a 2-hour loss of time in which I was sucked into a big dreamland time-vortex. You no sey body no be firewood nah. Hehehehe...

Also mikesfrequency already has 3 of its articles published already on Naija Stories and hopes to do more as time goes on.Ticking away and Black Beauty have attracted views of over 200 readers.

Shoutout to Myne Whitman for a good job on Naija Stories.

Now let's see how we can make good use of this night's solitude. See you guys soon.

Wedding Stories

Remember I talked one time about my big fight with technology, FB and the likes? Well, word on the street has it that we're back together again for a lil while as it were. Hehehe. Silly me.

Okay, about the wedding I talked about in my previous post? Twas fab! Ok...True confession, I missed the exchange of vows and the 'I do' part while staring in each others faces. I also missed the 'You may now kiss the bride' part. Arrgh! I should be caned but all well and good I graced the closing remarks in my regalia.

The Adebiyis with a classic pose
Going to weddings sort of gives you an awareness which I won't spell out and at this point I doff my hat while raising a glass to the latest couples in town...Mr & Mrs Adebiyi

I must commend the dancing prowess of the bride. It was too gbaski (another word for awesomeness).

Dear future wife,
This is to gently warn you of my dancing skills and to let you know its on! Cuz on that day...I'll beat you to it.
But till then...MWAH!
                                                                                             xoxo...The love of your life.
Another highlight of my day was a meeting with a reverred friend of mine. 2 hours of sharing views, asking honest questions on life, passion, career paths, purpose and the list is endless. Part of the reasons I decided to get back to FB. Don't ask me why. :-)) Today...Oh! Yesterday(Saturday) I mean was worthwhile and above it all God favoured me all through the places I went.

Wish you guys a happy Sunday and check out my latest piece and why I got pissed with Technology below.

20m and counting

How are y'all doing? Fine I guess. Yay! Finally something on 'Raw Talk' page. My inspiration was gotten at 20m above sea level.
Don't worry, you'll understand what I mean when you read it.

Firstly, God is good I must say. There's been a conundrum of good news this days that makes me know fully that God is awesome!

I just finished reading a beautiful piece on marriage from one of my best blogs ever and I recommend you read it too. My best part of a wedding used to be the part where the cake was shared, or when I got to eat the party rice but that was a few years back when I attended a wedding last. I'm excited cuz this weekend, I'll have the privilege to grace one again as always. I'm thinking maybe it might be the exchange of vows especially when the bride calls the bridegroom's name while reciting her vows to him

Lets just say, when I'm not blogging, I'm probably configuring some Telecoms equipment, learning Project Mgt. methodologies or reading some book. This now brings me to introduce my write-up which was inspired by climbing a 50m tower.

My thoughts on Bin Laden

Sitting at my PC at 11:31pm...exhausted. Its been a while since I posted something on Raw Talk and the other pages.

I particularly got wind of Bin Laden's death on Monday afternoon and what surprised me most was the fact that the US citizens were jubilating. Don't get me wrong, the 9/11 attacks was a cold-blooded massacre. In fact, one documentary I watched last month on Discovery Channel got me teary-eyed where they analyzed the tragic events as narrated from selected families of the victims. Twas indeed a sad one and I still sympathize till date with them.

Now the part that gets me confused for the lack of a better word is the jubilation. True as a newscaster described it, America was one-evil man safer by Osama Bin Laden's death but my fear lies in this... Osama is dead but his legacy is not!
There are a couple of naysayers/Osama hardcore followers who have a deposit of his doctrine in their blood stream and have now been agitated. This only puts the United States in a more uncomfortable situation. As for me, I would have preferred him captured alive.

Well, that being said, my country has a lot of issues to solve and the Osama issue is by the way.
Before I go, I'd like to drop a few tips:
Make every moment count. I read a book (Business @ the Speed of Thought by Bill Gates) in 1 month...in transit. I used the little hours spent on the road traveling to and fro daily to finish the book and It only made me realize, I could utilize more of my time. Carry a book with you when traveling, when eating and even in the toilet.

Time is Life...Wasted Time=Wasted Life.
Have a nice day!...@ moi frequency...

Happy New Month+Worker's Day+What the...

hmm...Its 2am on the 2nd of May but I guess its not too late to wish y'all a wonderful new month and workers' day celebration and WHAT THE...I mean what's all the fuss about Princess Beatrice's crazy hat. As in, its hilarious to the extent of having a dedicated facebook page. Talking about the Duke of York's daughter's faux pas at the much talked about 'Royal Wedding'. I bet she won't find it funny at all.

Sunday could be what I'd call a red-letter day also cuz the message was 'off the wall' cuz the hook itself fell off.
Ever heard a sermon on shoes. I bet not.
Nuff said, word on the street has it that I'm currently in a big fight with Social Networking. I mean its totally pointless and time-wasting from Michael's Theorem which states that the amount of time spent on that blue page is indirectly proportional to the time spent on getting useful info on the same browser provided your thinking remains constant. Silly kinda but I'm serious here and I think It'll take Mark Zuckerberg himself to convince me. (Actually a bluff).

So what did I learn this week...hmmm...

Okay its the 5th month of the year and trust me nothing is more demanding in skill than Time Management. Time is Life...Wasted Time = Wasted Life.
This quote has been an inspiration since I found it some days ago and I decided to share with you my distinguished reader.

"If you are distressed by anything external,
the pain is not due to the thing itself,
but to your estimate of it;

and this you have the power to revoke at any moment" - Marcus Aurelius

He is risen!

Happy Easter to you all!

Good to be back here and I must apologize for the long silence. It wasn't intentional.
Wonder how you're spending yours at your end but I sure hope it'll be swell still fully aware of the reason for the season.
Well, I would recommend you watch a movie like 'Passion of The Christ' or read a book from my best author, Max Lucado. I was reading one of his books yesterday and I must say, he has a creative way of expressing his love for God with words and sort of making you feel the same. Book's titled 'Applause of Heaven'. I think this will be the 1st book I've read over 3 times and each time always seems new and exciting. I hope to be this creative.

Well, if you're like me and would be indoors with famille, then I'd say have fun too. Either ways, we should keep in mind that Jesus had fleshy tendencies like us while on earth yet withstood all forms of temptation, submitted to the will of the Father and became a pathway to our Salvation. Now that's awesome.

Whatever you're going through, He went through already so just get ready to let go and feel the April breeze blow as you cling to the old rugged cross.

Shoutout to a friend: Happy birthday Toju!

Slow and Steady

That's the way I'm playing it this days. No need to rush. I particularly have been out of tune with some things in my environment and it just gives you the creeps when things move too fast.

Okay I'm supposed to submit a write-up by the end of this week and I haven't written shin-gbai (local word for 'Nada'/nothing) at all. So, I'm taking it all out on my environment cuz she hasn't given me any inspiration at all. hehehe...Projects, Deadlines, Decisions...on and on and on.

Thank you Lord for life and sanity. So ama take it slow and steady cuz sometimes, the best way to catch-up fast is to slow-down...hmmm...what a paradox.
Slow and Steady implies caution, calculation and precision juxtaposed with heavenly connection (you can't rule that out you know). I'm having a Matrix moment here...world on slow-mo...with me dodging stress bullets, jumping over skyscrapers and landing with a dignified full split on peaceful grounds. Breathe in...Breathe out. Well these are just some random thoughts from a tired head. *yawn*

Enjoy the rest of your week and get ready Nigeria for this weekend (April 16th)...Nigeria Decides!
