Thankful for a New Phase...

It feels very awkward as I type this post and this was one of those very rare impulsive moments. What makes it rare is the fact that I haven't blogged for a year! (never knew it was that long). I feel so rusty, out of touch, think of other words that can describe it.

So it just occurred to me that 'Hey Michael, when are you going to get around to have that courage of picking up on your blogging'. Then I went to my blog address (luckily I still remembered), signed in to Blogger and here I am. It feels weird and slightly good all at the same time but I'm happy that I got around to do it.

A whole lot has definitely happened since the last time I blogged. I guess I'd have to visit some new interesting blogs and the courage to say hi again at the existing ones. Gush! I miss this place.

I miss the awesome people I met here...Toin's blog, Aunty Relentless, Retired Feyi (Yes/No?), D-I of life and destiny, Atilola the seasoned spoken word mama (lol), Sisi Yemmie our blog maestro.

Today was one of the many good times I had this year...Had fun and all

Blogging and my hiatus

It's been a constant struggle trying to put up a post for more than a month now.

Before I go on, I'm really sorry for the long silence. I thought it not wise to just put up something here without visiting your blogs so I had to do a lil visit round almost all the blogs I follow.

As you can see, we changed skin o, hehehe. Please help fill in the poll by the right sidebar. I'll appreciate it a lot!

Lots have happened in the past few days, my birthday, stress from everyday life, an encounter with a Sierraleonean  refugee, to mention a few.
I was ranting to a friend just this weekend of the number of things I was juggling and was advised to focus on things that matter. Blogging for me is one and you guys have just been super-duper awesome.

Hopefully, I've resumed fully now by God's grace. Wish you guys a lovely week ahead and stay tuned for some juicy stuff.

P.S.: Please let me know in the comments what you feel can be improved on. Thanks!

New blogger on the block+Versatile Blogger award+Special note to her

This is definitely the longest title you've seen here. Just feeling lazy.
Thank God for this day. I'm very happy to write something tonight cuz I initially wasn't feeling in the mood to write. Dunno what's up today...maybe I'm just tired jere.

So I got a mail today from a new blogger on the block...Victor Ugo who blogs at------>This nice page and I thought it appropriate to introduce him to y'all. SHOW SOME LOVE as you always do. I trust you guys. Please visit and drop a comment or just leave traces to encourage him.
I personally liked this poem from the little I read.

On to the next, okay I've been thinking of something...that will come towards the end of this post.
Just want to say a big THANK YOU! to Honeydame for giving us this awesome Versatile Blogger Award.
And that little note you wrote too...Thanks a milli!

So here are the ground rules:
The Rule: Link the person/people who awarded you
                  Write 7 things/facts about you
Award 15 new blogs you discovered and find a way to inform them
Rule 1...check
Now onto the second rule:

I did something similar for the 'One Lovely Blog' award given to us by RelentlessBuilder.

7 things'facts about me (I'll try to make it different from the last)
1. I eat my last meal of the day by 5pm most times. Okay, wait a minute here, note I said most times. Thing is when I get home, appetite is usually gone*raising hat for Lagos traffic*. So I just drink water and carry on into the night till I sleep. So far, it has helped me to a large extent cuz I wake up feeling light and refreshed most times.

2. I wash everyday. Not like I can't stand dirty clothes but I guess it's a habit. Even if I get home midnight, I still wash it latest by the next morning before wearing any new one.

3. Whatever you do, don't ever touch my nose! I will just sneeze for hours. which is why I hate dust (remember the last time).

4. On seeing me, you'd think I'm from the South-South or some tribe. My name helps in misleading too but I speak Yoruba fluently and can spice it with a lil proverb, I can read a Yoruba bible and be translating in English for you while reading and can write a full letter in Yoruba complete with the tone marks!

5. I love teaching. Or should I say I love people listening to me. No lemme explain.
I like that scenario where I stand in front of a gathering to pass across knowledge or information or directions and them listening. Teaching provides that avenue, Consulting provides that too, etc.

6. When I'm pissed, I talk very slooowly in a formal tone and a stern look on my face. My accent changes and I speak like I'm counting my words. The annoying good part is once I let it out or smile, that's it.

7. I want to have a CCIE certification in the next 2 years(really tough nut).

Rule No 3 is where the wahala is o. Kai 15 bloggers I just discovered. I'll mention a few.

The greatest day ever in October!

They say there are 2 most important days in a man's life...
The day he is born...and the day he discovers why he was born.

Today marks the anniversary of one of those days...MY BIRTHDAY!
Oya all you October people kneel down nah lemme bless you!

Shoutout to my birthday mate, friend, blogsville mentor, sister...in fact she's tooo much!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MYNE WHITMAN!!! YAY!
I truly respect you. Your spirit is awesome. She's kind enough to drop comments and to think of how she manages to do that for hundreds of blogs is just amazing! Nkem you're the best!

This post was scheduled since Sunday nite/Monday morning so I hope what I'll tell you in this post won't change. Talking of how I'll spend the day.

It's definitely a special day and all I can say is I'm a recipient of some in-explanable grace from God. So here's how I plan to spend it.
- I'll pray into my birthday (been doing that for a while now)
- I'll fast on that day(today I mean!). (at least till 12noon, cuz enough people will so beat me if I extend longer than that)
- I'll reflect.
- Most importantly, I'LL ENJOY EVERY BIT OF TODAY! It's worth it and more.

I've made great decisions and I've grown. I've made decisions that hurt me but I've grown. I've grown stronger with each day. I've grown to know God never leaves you clueless. He knows my every weakness and strengthens those areas.

I've made a couple of good friends over time, lost a few. All in all, I've grown to know that time is fleeting. I've grown to know that forgiveness is the fragrance the flower leaves on the heels of the one who crushed it. I've grown to know how to forgive and respect. I've grown to be conscious of associations and reflect on the past good deeds. I've grown to love. I've grown to know how to smile when the heat is high. I've grown to follow my passion. I've grown to learn the power of words in moulding.

I've grown to know how to get on my knees. I've grown to know how to cry to/before God, to lay flat and drop all the burden at His pierced feet. I've grown to feel His pierced hands touch my heart to feel 'that peace'. I've also grown to know that I have to keep growing always. Thank you Lord!!!

To all who have made my online sojourn a fun-ride...Ya'll too gbaski!!! LOL!

Myne Whitman, Relentless2011 (my blog tight-padi), LDP , Okeoghene, 9jaFoodie (yummy!)
